Savavet Selaforte (Selamectin) Tick and Flea Control Spot On for Dogs

SELAFORTE (Selamectin in dogs and cats) is a ready-to-use topical parasiticide in single-dose tubes for the safe and effective elimination of ticks, fleas, mites, lice, and intestinal parasites. It can be used on dogs six weeks of age or older and cats eight weeks of age or older.

Selamectin, a macrocyclic lactone, acts as an agonist of the GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) neurotransmitter in nerve cells and as a ligand of glutamate-gated chloride channels in the invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. This action inhibits neuronal transmission, resulting in paralysis and expulsion of parasites from the pet's body. It also interferes with certain parasites' reproductive processes by suppressing oviposition and interfering with oogenesis, thus preventing subsequent infestations.

Indications/Uses 

• Flea control: Kills adult fleas and prevents flea infestations.

• Tick prevention: Eliminates ticks that can cause infections.

• Ear mite treatment: Treats and controls ear mite infestations effectively.

• Sarcoptic mange (Scabies): Applied for the treatment of sarcoptic mange in dogs.

• Heartworm prevention: Prevents heartworm disease by killing heartworm larvae.

• Lice control: Eliminates biting lice infestations in dogs and cats.

• Roundworm and hookworm treatment: Effective against intestinal parasites in cats

Directions for use: 

1. Use the correct dose following the weight of your pet as ordered by the vet.

2. Open tube: Stand up, push down the cap to break the seal, and discard the cap.

3. Use directly on skin:

• Compart the coat at the neck (for dog) or behind the shoulder (for cat) to the base so that skin shows.

• Firmly press the tube and discharge the complete content directly on to the skin.

• Do not rub or spread the solution.

4. Allow drying time: Do not bathe or get the pet wet for at least 24 hours after application.

5. Repeat as prescribed: Typically applied once a month for ongoing flea and tick prevention.
